Libris K-1

Libris K-1 is a document solution for accounting firms and partnerships that produce large volumes of documents relating to Form 1065 tax returns.

During the past ten years, while assisting our clients in preparation of large partnership tax returns, we noticed that the final production of partners' tax packages was unusually painful.

In the final phases of tax return production, we invariably found our colleagues printing and hand-collating thousands of paper pages.

In response, we developed Libris K-1; a simple, easy to use Windows application that electronically collates partners' tax packages, eliminating the manual labor at the end of partnership tax preparation processes.

Libris K-1 has two two key features:

• Extraction and indexing of federal K-1s, state K-1s, and other forms and statements from PDF-format documents.
  
  
• Packaging of extracted documents, cover letters, and other user-created whitepaper into fully-assembled PDF-format files suitable for final distribution. These final documents can be sent directly to production with instructions to "print and staple".

The evaluation version is limited to extraction of Federal K-1s only.

The annual licensing fee for the fully functional Libris K-1 is $5,000 per office location, with all software updates and customer support included.

In general, we find that the stock Libris K-1 is flexible enough to accomodate almost all customers' processes. However, additional customization is available at reasonable hourly rates.
